Meaningful Work. A Flexible Schedule. A Life Outside of Work.

You became a therapist because you wanted to help people. You should be able to do that work without giving up the life you’ve built outside of it.

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana (VOAOHIN) is looking for a compassionate therapist to provide outpatient substance use disorder treatment on the west side of Indianapolis and in Plainfield.

This is a role for someone who wants meaningful clinical work, a strong team, room to grow, and real flexibility.

Schedule & Benefits

  • Choose five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts
  • One virtual workday each week
  • Choose your start and stop times
  • One in-person day per week until 7:00 p.m. — you choose the day
  • No on-call or weekend responsibilities
  • Generous PTO and sick time
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 403(b) with company match

We want our therapists to have the flexibility to build a schedule that supports both their clients and their personal lives.

Why VOA?

Therapists work as part of a collaborative team that includes medical providers, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals. Our model allows therapists to spend meaningful time with clients and focus on quality care rather than a productivity-driven environment.

You’ll also have the opportunity to:

  • Receive on-staff clinical supervision if you are eligible and working toward higher licensure
  • Build strong experience in substance use disorder, mental health, trauma-informed care, and family systems
  • Pursue professional development and internal advancement
  • Work for an organization with more than 1,000 employees across Ohio and Indiana
  • Be part of a mission focused on helping people rebuild their lives and reach their full potential

Responsibilities

The Therapist will:

  • Provide individual and group counseling
  • Complete pre-screens, biopsychosocial assessments, and treatment plans
  • Maintain timely and accurate client records
  • Connect clients with needed resources
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Meet applicable VOAOHIN, DMHA, DCS, Medicaid, CARF, and grant-provider standards

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field
  • Current Indiana licensure at LSW or higher, LMHCA or higher, or LAC or higher
  • Ability to provide individual and group counseling, complete assessments and treatment plans, and maintain clinical documentation

At VOAOHIN, our work is rooted in compassion, service, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Come do work you believe in, grow your career, and stay connected to the life you’ve built outside of work.
