ERM is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join our growing EHS technical team in Lebanon, IN. In this role, you will provide technical assistance on health and safety compliance projects, safety oversight, risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, and compliance assurance programs for clients locally, nationally, and internationally. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging EHS management projects for large industrial and global clients. This is a full-time (40hrs/week), limited-term role for a duration of 8 months, extendable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and assess occupational health programs, procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
  • Provide technical leadership in industrial hygiene, exposure assessment, respiratory protection, laboratory safety, risk management, and compliance assurance programs.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene assessments and recommend appropriate control measures, PPE, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support manufacturing, laboratory, and operational teams through risk assessments, hazard reviews, incident investigations, and occupational health consultations.
  • Provide industrial hygiene and safety support for capital projects, facility moPdifications, equipment installations, and operational readiness activities.
  • Evaluate engineering and administrative controls, including ventilation and exposure mitigation systems, to support regulatory compliance and effective risk management.
  • Prepare technical reports, assessments, training materials, and other project deliverables.
  • Achieve client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality while managing multiple priorities.
  • Assist in resolving technical and regulatory issues, engage with regulators as needed, and serve as an extension of the client's EHS team.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, operations, engineering, maintenance, and EHS personnel to successfully deliver project objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related discipline preferred
  •  10+ years of industrial hygiene experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, life sciences, or similar industrial environments.
  • Experience supporting EHS program implementation in manufacturing environments, including facility startup, commissioning, or operational readiness activities.
  • Experience conducting occupational exposure assessments and developing risk-based recommendations for engineering controls, respiratory protection, and PPE programs.
  • Experience supporting industrial hygiene programs such as respiratory protection, laboratory safety, health surveillance, indoor air quality, or related occupational health programs.
  • Experience providing industrial hygiene support for capital projects, process design reviews, equipment installations, and operational changes.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable industrial hygiene and occupational health requirements.
  • Credentials such as CIH, CSP, CHMM, PE, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work in fast-paced client environments and travel as needed.
