About the Program: The Manager in Training (MIT) Program is a rotation-based development program designed to prepare participants to successfully manage an apartment community and lead a team. It focuses on hands-on experience and demonstrated competency. MITs rotate through multiple properties and functional areas, gaining exposure to different teams, leadership styles, and asset types, then move into placement as a Property Manager. The program is open to both internal and external candidates. Advancement through each rotation is based on completing deliverables and demonstrating understanding, not a fixed timeline. What You'll Do: Over eight rotations, you'll work your way through every core function of property management: Leasing Track Complete onboarding and leasing mentorship, including tours, applications, and prospect follow-up Build marketing and lead generation skills through ILS audits, social media, resident events, and local outreach Assistant Property Manager Track Learn resident retention, renewals, and conflict resolution Manage delinquency processing, notices, and the eviction process Shadow maintenance operations Property Manager Track Run financial reports, budget variance analysis, and forecasting Review asset condition, preventative maintenance, and emergency preparedness Take on the leadership, coaching, and performance management responsibilities of a Property Manager What We're Looking For: Strong interest in a career path toward Property Manager Willingness to travel between properties across the portfolio for the duration of the program Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Comfortable with financial reporting, budgets, and basic accounting concepts Outstanding customer service and communication skills Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
