How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Protect the safety of patients, staff, and visitors by proactively identifying threats and responding to security incidents with a calm, decisive presence.

  • Lead complex investigations and exercise legal authority, including making arrests when necessary, to ensure the hospital remains a safe, law-abiding environment for care.

  • Collaborate with external law enforcement agencies and internal clinical teams to coordinate emergency responses and provide expert testimony that supports justice and safety.

  • Empower the hospital community by facilitating safety training and education, ensuring every staff member feels prepared and supported in emergency situations.

  • Manage critical mobile resources by operating and maintaining patrol vehicles safely, ensuring a rapid and reliable response across the entire campus.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Certification specializing in Peace Officer obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Law Enforcement Certificate obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

Work Experience:

  • Shall be at least 21 years of age in order to attend the required law enforcement training academy courses.

What additional requirements you'll need

  • ILEA Academy Training is required. 
  • Highest level of professionalism, ethics, standards, and judgement preferred.
