The Vice President of Construction will lead various teams of internal and external project managers and construction professionals who work to deliver infrastructure projects for public and private clients. The job will also require the ability to assist in building a pipeline of public and private clients. Avenew's VP of Construction can evaluate costs associated with projects including materials, labor, and time expended and provide efficient solutions. Evaluating emerging infrastructure, transportation, and construction trends is also necessary.

Essential Functions
  • Professional leadership as senior leader and representative of Avenew and helping build a positive Avenew culture
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and construction professionals
  • Set and execute the strategic direction for construction project delivery across the portfolio
  • Manage departmental P&L, project budgets, and portfolio-level performance metrics
  • Maintain open lines of communication and positive relationships with clients
  • Provide business development support to Avenew
  • Provide technical support to consultants, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Drive continuous improvement of construction practices, tools, standards, and delivery methods
  • Evaluate and apply emerging infrastructure, transportation, and construction trends to Avenew's work
  • Negotiates contracts with vendors and clients to ensure the most cost-effective means of reaching the client's needs
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Education Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Preferred Master's Degree

Experience Qualifications
  • 15+ years Construction management experience
  • 5+ years Senior leadership role overseeing multiple project managers and concurrent projects

Licenses and Certifications
  • PE Preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Institute (PMI) Required
