This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). In addition to the on-site duties, there are additional responsibilities that can be completed outside of the office, resulting in this being a hybrid role.

The Vice President, Technology Operations and Security leads the enterprise technology operations strategy and multi-year operating model that keeps Elements reliable, secure, resilient, and ready for growth. This role owns technology operations, infrastructure, cloud services, end user support, branch and member facing channel technology, service delivery, vendor execution, business continuity, disaster recovery, technology risk governance, and technology security operations. The role serves as a strategic advisor to the CIO and Executive Team on operational resiliency, technology risk, fraud and security exposure across member facing channels, service capacity, and technology investment decisions. The VP of Technology Operations and Security works closely with the Information Security Officer, internal audit, compliance, business leaders, and technology partners to reduce operational risk, improve service quality, and protect member and employee information.
You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:
- Own the enterprise technology operations strategy and multi-year operating model across the organization, including standards, governance, capacity planning, resiliency, service performance, operational risk, and technology security operations.
- Establish and lead enterprise governance practices for technology resiliency, operational readiness, technology risk, business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational control effectiveness.
- Define enterprise standards and operating principles that enable consistent delivery of secure, reliable, and resilient technology services across the organization.
- Lead technology operations, infrastructure, cloud services, network operations, endpoint operations, end user support, service delivery, vendor execution, business continuity, disaster recovery, and technology security operations.
- Translate business strategy into practical technology operating plans, standards, service expectations, and improvement roadmaps.
- Own technology service health, including incident trends, recurring issues, root cause analysis, service levels, vendor performance, and operational risk.
- Lead major incident response, post incident reviews, remediation tracking, and executive communication for material technology events, including cybersecurity and fraud driven events that affect members, branches, or member facing channels.
- Mature change, problem, asset, access, monitoring, backup, recovery, and vendor management practices.
- Partner with the Information Security Officer to execute the Information Security Program through operational controls, access reviews, vulnerability remediation, incident response, change control, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with fraud, risk, and retail leadership on controls that serve both information security and fraud prevention, including identity verification, authentication, account takeover defense, phishing and social engineering resistance, monitoring and alerting, and joint response when member accounts or information are at risk.
- Build practical standards for infrastructure, endpoint, cloud, identity, network, monitoring, support operations, and security control execution.
- Maintain a strategic and holistic perspective on technology strategy, planning, delivery, support, risk, and operational performance.

- Ensure the technology that serves members directly, including branch systems, self-service and ATM channels, contact center platforms, and digital banking infrastructure, is secure, stable, scalable, recoverable, and responsive to member and employee needs.
- Lead operational practices that protect member and employee information while supporting practical business execution.
- Promote clear ownership, disciplined follow-through, strong service habits, and timely issue resolution across Technology Solutions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Team regarding technology operational performance, resiliency, capacity planning, technology risk, recovery readiness, and investment priorities.
- Provide executive leadership with actionable insights regarding operational trends, emerging risks, technology constraints, and opportunities that may impact the achievement of strategic objectives.
- Present operational resiliency, technology risk, business continuity, and service performance information to Executive Leadership, Board Committees, and the Board of Directors as appropriate.
- Drive cross functional alignment across business units to ensure technology operations, operational resiliency, and risk management capabilities support enterprise objectives.
- Lead organization-wide response planning and readiness activities for significant operational disruptions, technology outages, cybersecurity events, and business continuity scenarios.
- Model trust, integrity, respect, collaboration, and service in daily leadership decisions.
You will help grow the business:
- Develop and maintain multi-year roadmaps for technology operations, infrastructure, resiliency, service management, cloud operations, and technology security operations.
- Lead enterprise planning efforts related to technology capacity, operational scalability, resiliency, support readiness, and service sustainability.
- Plan technology capacity, resiliency, security coverage, and support models for branch expansion, new locations, channel growth, and changes in member service delivery.
- Direct long range operational investment planning, budgeting, and resource allocation decisions to ensure technology services remain aligned with organizational priorities and growth objectives.
- Create operational metrics that show service reliability, ticket health, aging issues, control gaps, recovery readiness, vendor performance, and remediation progress.
- Drive automation, standardization, documentation, and simplification to improve service quality and reduce manual effort.
- Manage key technology partner relationships, service expectations, contract performance, risk remediation, and escalation paths.
- Serve as the executive owner of enterprise operational resiliency and technology readiness, ensuring technology capabilities, constraints, dependencies, and risks are incorporated into organizational strategy, annual planning, and investment decisions.
- Utilize operational, financial, risk, and service performance information to make critical and influential decisions regarding technology investments, operational priorities, and organizational readiness.
- Continually assess technology services, tools, and partners for opportunities to improve reliability, risk posture, cost effectiveness, and member impact.

- Stay current with infrastructure operations, cloud services, cybersecurity operations, identity, endpoint management, service management, resiliency planning, and financial services technology.
- Maintain working knowledge of technology risk, audit expectations, regulatory guidance, vendor oversight, privacy obligations, and cybersecurity control practices.
- Participate in relevant professional networks, education, peer groups, and industry forums.
- Use lessons from incidents, audits, exams, vendor reviews, and service reviews to improve operating practices.
- Share relevant practices and patterns across Technology Solutions and with business partners.

- Lead, coach, and develop infrastructure, operations, support, service management, security operations, and vendor management team members.
- Build clear role expectations, operating rhythms, escalation paths, and accountability measures across assigned teams.

- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports practical innovation, shared ownership, and service quality.
- Provide direction on priorities, work intake, resource planning, and departmental project execution so teams complete the right work at the right time.
- Create a culture where teams learn from incidents, document repeatable practices, and resolve root causes rather than only treating symptoms.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- 10 or more years of progressive experience in technology operations, infrastructure, cloud operations, service delivery, information security operations, or related technology functions.
- 5 or more years of leadership experience, including direct leadership of technical teams, vendors, or managed service providers.
- Demonstrated experience shaping technology operations strategy, multi-year operating models, governance practices, capacity planning, resiliency planning, or technology risk programs at an enterprise level.
- Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure, support, cloud, endpoint, network, identity, monitoring, or related technology operations.
- Demonstrated experience with incident management, change management, business continuity, disaster recovery, audit support, access reviews, vulnerability remediation, or technology risk management.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership and board level audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, prioritization, and independent decision-making skills, with sound business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality services in an efficient manner within a regulated and high accountability environment.
- Financial services, credit union, regulated industry, or high compliance environment experience preferred.
- ITIL, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, AWS, Azure, or related credentials preferred but not required.
