Job Opportunity – Program Technician, Invasive Species

About the Position: IRC has an opening for a full-time Program Technician on the Invasive Species team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work outdoors and use a variety of skills to protect habitats and improve biodiversity. Depending on the season and the needs of the program, the Program Technician will implement a variety of control methods and techniques on a variety of species, perform invasive species surveys and mapping, and engage with vendors, volunteers, and the public. The Program Technician will work independently under general direction and as part of a team.

The Successful Candidate will have a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field and the following experience, skills, abilities, and knowledge:

- Experience in landscape maintenance, habitat restoration, or similar
- Ability to identify common invasive plants and pests in the field
- Experience with basic methods for controlling invasive plants, including mechanical and chemical
- Experience safely using and maintaining hand tools and equipment such as hoes, shovels, pick mattocks, backpack sprayers, and weed whips
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in an outdoor setting at multiple locations
- Familiarity with the local ecology

Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.75 per hour ($49,920 - $55,640 per year)
