 AJL Plumbing & Heating is actively seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join our Long Island operation. We are a fully licensed and insured plumbing & heating contractor handling commercial & residential across Nassau and Suffolk.

- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysisÂ
- Proficient in google suite and Microsoft Office
- Â Exceptional problem solving skills, the ability to fix issues quickly that are happening on jobsite and fall into the estimating process.Â
- Â Perform accurate material and labor takeoffsÂ
- Primarily responsible for preparing plumbing estimates, identifying labor, material and time requirements, changing estimates with addendums and going over RFI's.
- Must be able to bid on both open shop and prevailing wage
- Maintain and update unit cost databases and vendor pricingÂ
- Ability to work independently and carry-out assignments to completion during the entire course of estimating until proposal gets approved and handed off to project manager.
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of material, equipment and labor.Â
- Receive quotes from vendors/ suppliers for material and determine best for project and cost effectiveness.Â
- Developing and maintaining relationships with general contractors.Â
- Ability to follow up with bids and discuss best and final numbers with estimators and project managers to be awarded the job.Â
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detailÂ
- Knowledge of Procure and building Connected for receiving bid files and sending out bid forms and proposals.Â
- Exceptional time management skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines on bidsÂ
 3–10+ years commercial plumbing estimating and commercial plumbing field experienceÂ
This is a full time position from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, typically in the $70,000-$90,000 range
