The Director of Business Development is responsible for directing the development and continuous refinement of the facility’s business development plan. This position designs, develops, implements and directs the business development strategic goals, philosophy, policies and procedure, and systems for the department and the facility.

Directly supervises the Marketing Representatives. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Director of Business Development is a part of the facilities Senior Management Team. This position is responsible for growing the hospital's business by managing all hospital marketing efforts including advertising, public relations, research and referral development. The Director of Business Development is also responsible for utilizing and managing the marketing department budget and coordinating/developing hospital based workshops/other events. Additional responsibilities encompass the gathering, analyzing and reporting of data related to marketing efforts and the management of the hospital marketing team.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health area, marketing, business administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare business development resulting in measurable results and 3 years of supervisory experience. Direct experience developing manage care agreements (especially with capitation and at-risk areas). Detailed knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles. Must have a valid driver’s license.
