About this Opportunity:

We are seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, FL. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely after the training period. This person will be responsible for reviewing transactional activities from weekly unposted reports, creating and posting Asset Masters, and reconciling the fixed assets subledger to the general ledger monthly. This entails reviewing AP Vouchers in Nexus, creating and updating purchase orders, and generating depreciation schedules along with month-end reports. Furthermore, it involves running disposal programs, performing ad-hoc reporting and analysis, supporting various internal departments with information requests, and reviewing ASC 805 asset acquisitions.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

 

  • Review transactional related activity from the weekly unposted report (Property Acquisitions, Impairments, Property Disposals, CIP Transfers, etc.). Create and post Asset Masters for lease and non-lease related assets.  Reconcile the fixed assets subledger to the general ledger monthly.
  • Review capital asset transactions within Nexus to ensure proper capitalization in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policy. Create and upload purchase orders (POs) for deal-related costs and update existing POs as needed.
  • Generate and document depreciation schedules and compute depreciation for all lease and non-lease related assets and prepare month-end depreciation reports (ledger integrity, and SOX control reports). Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries related to fixed assets and updating the Fixed Asset Subledger (FASL) for lease terminations.
  • Run disposal program for non-lease related assets (moveouts, property disposition, property demolition, and write-off from natural disasters, etc.) and validate disposal report accordingly. 
  • Perform additional ad-hoc reporting (monthly/quarterly capital expenditures, fix asset roll-forwards, quarterly and annual footnotes and supplemental reporting, etc.) and analysis related to Accounting & Reporting such as fixed asset impairment analyses and property demolition calculations.
  • Support internal (Tax, Development Accounting, Joint Ventures, Operations, and Financial Services) with information requests related to Fixed Assets.
  • Review ASC 805 asset acquisitions.

Are You Qualified?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
