Rivkin Radler LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Jacksonville, FL office. The candidate will be working with attorneys in a variety of litigation matters and should have a background and experience working in a litigation firm. Must be proactive and have excellent organizational, scheduling and calendaring skills. The ability to multi-task, manage a large caseload and work in a fast-paced environment is also required.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of federal and state statutes, rules, and procedures pertaining to electronic court filings and systems as well as basic research capabilities (Lexis/Westlaw).

 

Primary duties include:

  • Drafting of routine court documents such as Notices of Appearances, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Notices of Motions, Subpoenas, Stipulations and other general court documents.
  • Compile and/or draft legal documents for review and use by attorneys such as routine discovery responses and affidavits.
  • Request, pursue, subpoena and work with record vendors to obtain medical treatment and/or educational records.
  • Prepares exhibits and other demonstrative evidence.
  • Conduct case law research using Lexis/Westlaw and public access websites to assist with strategies for defense
  • Organize, analyze, chart and/or index, medical treatment and education records, documents and/or exhibits for motion practice.
  • May assist attorneys in preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial concerning general matters.
  • Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure.
  • Review, categorize and analyze reports, records, data and discovery responses.
  • Capture and record billable time in accordance with policies and procedures.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 4+ years relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Medical chronology and billing index experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work with multiple attorneys.
  • Ability to work with large document intensive cases.
  • Proficient in Lexis and/or Westlaw, Microsoft Word, Excel and KOFAX Professional.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.

 

We are seeking an individual who will be a fast learner with the ability to multi-task, and will demonstrate a high level of responsibility, teamwork and dedication to accuracy and thoroughness in work product. 


Hybrid Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, with an hour lunch. Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
