Maintenance Technician-Jennings

Are you a hands-on professional who enjoys solving problems, working with tools, and making a difference every day? We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Maintenance & Facilities Technician to help keep our school facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Schedule

🕒 Monday - Friday
🕒 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Evening Shift)

Compensation

💲 $20.07 per hour

Essential Functions

As a Maintenance & Facilities Technician, you will perform a variety of maintenance and repair duties, including but not limited to:

• Electrical repairs and troubleshooting
• Plumbing installation and repairs
• Grounds maintenance and care
• Carpentry work and repairs
• Floor tile installation and replacement
• Cold patch roof repairs
• Operation of maintenance equipment and tools
• Fence installation and repair
• Furniture and equipment assembly and repair
• Routine preventive maintenance of equipment
• Driveway and parking lot repairs
• Delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the district
• Loading and unloading materials from trucks
• Maintaining accurate inventory and work order records
• Performing additional maintenance-related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to work effectively with school staff, maintenance teams, vendors, and community members
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
• Ability to work independently while following district policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Qualifications

✅ Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience required

✅ High School Diploma or GED

✅ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

✅ Ability to work independently and safely

✅ Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented

Additional Requirements

• Must successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check
• Fingerprinting costs are the responsibility of the applicant
