Field Service Technician – Large Format Printing Equipment

Salary: $55,000–$65,000/year, based on experience and certifications

Reprographic Products Group (RPG) is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new equipment, and solving problems.

This position services and repairs large-format printers, plotters, scanners, and related equipment throughout the DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania region.

Large-format printing experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has strong mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and a willingness to learn.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate can learn unfamiliar equipment and technology quickly, think outside the box, work independently, and maintain strong communication with customers and the service team.

Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Teams, AI tools, service manuals, technical documentation, diagnostic resources, and manufacturer support to research problems and find solutions.

Experience with electromechanical repair, electronics, printers/copiers, industrial equipment, automotive diagnostics, robotics, medical equipment, or other technical service fields is welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency service on wide-format printing and imaging equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, networking, and print-quality issues
  • Install parts, software, firmware updates, and equipment as needed
  • Work independently at customer locations while staying connected with the service team
  • Provide professional customer service to commercial, AEC, and federal customers
  • Complete accurate service documentation and follow through on service issues
  • Travel throughout the DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania service region as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar equipment and technology quickly
  • Comfortable working independently in a field service environment
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service territory
  • Large-format printing experience is a plus
  • Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus

Location

This is a field-based position supporting customers throughout the DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania region.
