Custodian

Job Summary

Employees in this position work under close supervision and are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in academic and administrative buildings, medical facilities, residence halls, and apartments. Duties include cleaning and maintaining public areas, assisting with assigned grounds maintenance, and completing all other cleaning tasks as assigned. Employees must be available to work any shift, including overtime as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures
Ability to understand and use the materials and equipment used in custodial work 
Ability to follow simple instructions 
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others 
Ability to perform light to heavy manual labor

Required Qualifications

Successful completion of eighth grade.

• Market Range – 2 (Salary Schedules)
