Job Summary:

 

The Wash Bay Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and biosecurity of the organization's fleet and grounds. This position is responsible for washing and detailing trucks and trailers, conducting biosecurity checks, and ensuring a safe environment. The Attendant's work is essential in preventing biosecurity hazards and maintaining the professional appearance of the fleet. 

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Wash and detail Freightliner trucks and trailers to high standards  
  • Conduct thorough biosecurity and cleanliness checks on vehicles  
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the wash bay and surrounding grounds  
  • Apply appropriate cleaning products and techniques for different vehicle types  
  • Operate pressure washers and other cleaning equipment safely and efficiently  
  • Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues observed during cleaning  
  • Follow all safety protocols and biosecurity procedures  
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicles cleaned and services performed  
  • Assist in inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment  
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • High School DiplomaGED, or equivalent experience 
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience  
  • Ability to work 5 days a week, 10-hour shifts  
  • Reliable transportation to and from work  
  • Physical capability to stand, bend, and lift in the performance of duties  
  • Attention to detail and commitment to thorough cleaning  
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety procedures 
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demand 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in vehicle detailing or industrial cleaning  
  • Knowledge of biosecurity principles in transportation or agriculture  
  • Familiarity with commercial truck and trailer designs  
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to identify potential vehicle issues 

 

Work Environment 

This position operates primarily in an outdoor wash bay setting, with exposure to various weather conditions. The role involves frequent use of water, cleaning chemicals, and pressure washing equipment. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive cleaning motions. Wash Bay Attendants must be comfortable working around large vehicles and in wet conditions. Flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays is required.
