CDL Truck Driver/Fork Lift Operator job description includes operating an industrial truck to load, unload, and move materials in environments like warehouses, and loading docks. Key responsibilities involve inspecting and performing basic maintenance on the forklift, verifying and securing loads, and maintaining accurate inventory and production records. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. 

Commercial Drivers must do daily inspections of truck and trailers and other requirements as stated by the State of MO Commercial Truck Drivers.

The position will likely be transporting materials between Joplin, MO and Carthage, MO daily. When not making a transfer between facilities, this position will be assisting in the warehouse by moving materials in the warehouse via forklift or turret truck; performing inventory counts, assisting with shipping/receiving, and other duties as needed. 

Education:

• Operator must maintain a current and Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License Operator License issued by State of Missouri
• Training as well as license to be completed by Designated Teacher at Joplin plant for Fork Lift and Turret Truck. 
• Must have Current Health Card
• Drivers are subject to Random Drug Test as required by all Commercial Drivers.

Required skills and qualifications 

• Certification: Must be have and maintain Class A Commercial Vehicle license and be able to be trained to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Certification must be maintained and refreshed as required by Safety Director.
• Physical abilities: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (50#), and possess strong hand-eye coordination.
• Attention to detail: Ability to accurately read and understand shipping documents, safety guidelines, and other paperwork.
• Basic math skills: Proficiency in basic calculations is needed for tasks like order picking and inventory control.
• Spatial awareness: Excellent peripheral vision and spatial relationships are necessary for safe maneuvering.
• Teamwork: Ability

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing plant shop environment and all requirements stated by the State of MO Concerning Commercial Drivers.
