Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams by providing technical expertise, direction, and engineering support for complex design and development of technologies, components, systems, products, or services.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to management and help establish engineering best practices and standard work.
  • Lead complex designs and cross-functional teams addressing manufacturing and operational challenges.
  • Own design acceptance, manufacturing producibility, validation, and technical project execution.
  • Define project scope and develop solutions addressing business challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise technology roadmaps and process improvements to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Define and implement engineering procedures, standards, and best practices to improve product/process performance.
  • Translate functional requirements into detailed engineering and design documentation.
  • Lead collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, operations, business teams, and external partners to deliver product solutions.
  • Apply advanced analytical, statistical, quantitative, and predictive methods to identify root causes and support strategic decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their impact on organizational strategies.
  • Provide recognized technical leadership on highly complex engineering challenges and champion innovative technologies.
  • Plan, estimate, staff, organize, monitor, and control significant technical projects while managing risks, resources, and stakeholders.
  • Lead project reviews and maintain communication with project teams, sponsors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Lead product testing strategies, methods, tools, standards, and best practices, including testing in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Lead product design and development from concept through production and establish effective product-development processes.
  • Mentor and coach technical professionals and promote technical excellence across the organization.

Experience you will need:

  • 15+ years of engineering/design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex product/component/system design and development.
  • Strong experience with manufacturing producibility, product validation, testing, and technical problem solving.
  • Experience leading teams as a Design Lead, Technical Lead, or Project Lead.
  • Experience owning a design/product development project from concept through execution.
  • Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, and project-management capabilities.
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders through technical expertise and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Gas turbine design experience required.
  • Product design and development.
  • Manufacturing engineering and producibility.
  • Product testing and validation.
  • Root-cause analysis and statistical/quantitative analysis.
  • Technology roadmaps and process improvement.
  • Engineering standards and best practices.
