Hawaiʻi Island Community Health Center (HICHC) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated Dental Services team in Kealakehe. As a Dental Hygienist at HICHC, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality preventive dental care and education to patients of all ages while supporting our Patient-Centered Medical Home model.

What You'll Do

In partnership with our Dental Director and dental providers, you will:

  • Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planning procedures
  • Assess patients' oral health and document findings
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy habits
  • Administer local anesthetics as permitted under Hawaiʻi state regulations
  • Take and process dental radiographs
  • Assist with dental procedures as needed
  • Promote positive patient experiences through compassionate, culturally sensitive care
  • Support community-focused initiatives and patient wellness programs

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Current Hawaiʻi Dental Hygienist license
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
  • Strong clinical skills and commitment to patient-centered care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and diverse populations
  • Community health or public health experience
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
