POSITION SUMMARY:  

This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources. The HR Manager will work closely with leadership of all levels to create a culture of collaboration and trust. This position serves to advise, implement, and manage human resources policy and procedures in accordance with federal and state laws.  The HR team proudly serves our community by serving the people who provide care for our community. This role supervises the HR support team.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Advises and assists leadership in the development, implementation and problem solving related to Human Resources policies and procedures.  
  • Conducts investigations into breaches of Human Resources and compliance related policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a backup for the recruitment of employees for open positions within the organization. Ensures job descriptions are up to date for all positions.  
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements to simplify various human resources processes.
  • Oversees the coordination of documentation for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the continued benefit administration during leave.
  • Responsible for administration of Workers Compensation insurance program by providing all related documentation to the insurance carrier and maintaining communication with employee and medical providers to assist in the recovery of the employee and protect the organization from fraudulent claims.  Coordinates and assists with annual workers compensation insurance audit.
  • Oversees the administration of Verification of Employment inquiries, and Friend of the Court inquiries.
  • Responsible for the daily direction, coordination, and evaluation of Human Resources staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Assisting with HR recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems timely. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, or related field from an accredited college or university is required.  
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in managing the Human Resources functions and leading people is required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • The preferred candidate will have experience in health care or human services related organizations.
