The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for translating daily manufacturing requirements into an executable labor and work-cell schedule, ensuring on-time production while balancing machine/cell capacity, component availability, and workforce skill levels. This role works closely with ERP/MES data to prioritize production and coordinate resources across manufacturing cells

 

 

What will you do?

 

  1. Create and manage work orders in line with current production and warehouse capacity/loading and component availability
  2. Review daily production/replenishment reports (e.g., Kit Production KPER/RARR) to identify what needs to be built, in what quantity, and by when.
  3. Triage and prioritize the rolling production list based on due dates, shortages, and business priority.
  4. Assign labor and work cells to production jobs, balancing cell/equipment capacity constraints across  work cells.
  5. Schedule technicians and general production employees appropriately.
  6. Monitor component/material availability and shortages flagged in ERP reports.
  7. Maintain and continuously improve documentation of cell assignments, labor time estimates, and scheduling logic.
  8. Communicate daily schedules to production leads and adjust in real time for absences, equipment downtime, or rush orders.
  9. Partner with plant leadership on process improvements, including supporting the transition from manual (Excel-based) scheduling to more automated/systematic planning tools.
  10. Maintain accurate data in ERP systems related to job status, completion, and time tracking.
  11. Participate in processes and programs aimed at continuous improvement and safety.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

 

What will you bring?

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
        • APICS certification or training preferred
  • 2 years in manufacturing and/or warehouse environment planning and scheduling. Work order management in an ERP system
  • Knowledge of production and material planning concepts
  • Ability to work in high paced environment while maintaining positive communication with internal customers
  • ERP and Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
