Brief DescriptionĀ 
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reportingĀ 
functions of the company. This position will provide critical insights to drive strategic decision-making,Ā 
optimize financial performance, and ensure the company’s continued growth in the engineering,Ā 
construction, and manufacturing sectors. Ā

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have financial analysis experience within a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or project-based environment, with demonstrated experience analyzing project costs, budgets, forecasts, variances, and profitability.

The successful candidate will bring advanced Excel and strong SQL/database skills, along with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and operational data. Experience with manufacturing cost analysis, project/job costing, WIP, cost-to-complete analysis, or engineering/construction project financial performance is highly valued.

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ Ā 
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements,Ā 
to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvementĀ 
• Assist in the development and maintenance of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, collaborating withĀ 
department heads to align financial goals with operational plansĀ 
• Conduct detailed cost analysis for engineering, construction, and manufacturing projects, identifyingĀ 
cost-saving opportunities and ensuring project profitabilityĀ 
• Build and maintain financial models to support capital investment decisions, project evaluations, andĀ 
long-term strategic planningĀ 
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial and operational performance,Ā 
providing actionable insights to senior managementĀ 
• Perform variance analysis to compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providingĀ 
explanations and recommendations to address discrepanciesĀ 
• Support pricing and bid analysis by evaluating target margins, cost structures, and risk assumptions. Ā 
Analyze margin trends by project type, customer, and business lineĀ 
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to evaluate project financial performance,Ā 
including cost overruns, revenue recognition, and profitability Ā 
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financialĀ 
reporting and analysisĀ 
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies. Assist in riskĀ 
assessments and mitigation strategiesĀ 
• Conduct special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by senior management to supportĀ 
strategic initiativesĀ

Job Specific CompetenciesĀ Ā 
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) andĀ 
experience with financial software (e.g., Sage-Intacct, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).Ā 
Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plusĀ

financial data and provide actionable insightsĀ

Qualifications (Required) Ā 
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPAĀ 
preferred Ā 
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in engineering, construction,Ā 
manufacturing, or related industries

Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred) Ā 
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting in the construction or manufacturing sectorsĀ 
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial regulations specific to the industry Ā 
• Proficiency in SQL or other data query languages for financial data extraction
