Mechanic 1

Join our dynamic team at Alleima Special Metals, part of the global Alleima Group, where innovation meets precision manufacturing. Within our Specialized Business Unit, we produce high-performance titanium tube products for demanding industries such as Aerospace and Medical.

We are seeking a Mechanic 1 to join our Maintenance Team at our Kennewick facility to perform maintenance work and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing operation within a union environment.

Your Role

As a Mechanic 1, you are responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, identifying and resolving mechanical issues, safely operating hand tools, shop machinery, and related maintenance equipment.

You key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting and supporting a strong culture of safety in all activities and interactions.

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance on company equipment, machinery, and systems.

  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems according to established procedures and inspect equipment to ensure proper performance and identify faults or malfunctions.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related equipment issues and identify additional repair needs and compile parts and labor estimates as required.

  • Test repaired equipment to verify proper operational performance.

  • Stay current with industry developments, equipment technologies, and technical best practices through ongoing training and education.

  • Perform all maintenance work assigned.

About You

You are a safety-minded and mechanically inclined professional with a strong work ethic and committed to maintaining equipment reliability. You possess solid troubleshooting abilities and are capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You take pride in producing quality work.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and possesses a combination of relevant qualifications, including 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, machinist or millwright experience, a Washington State Journeyman license recognized by L&I or completion of an approved apprenticeship program, and/or a background in facility maintenance. Candidates should demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and sound problem-solving skills. Strong customer service skills and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Candidates with preferred qualifications will have 3-5 years of experience in machining, millwright, maintenance, or related mechanical trades, along with experience performing maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment. Experience with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems and familiarity with milling machines, engine and tabletop lathes, surface and cylindrical grinding machines, machine repair, soldering, and heat-treating processes is preferred.

What you can expect from us

  • The hourly rate for this position starts at $38.68 with an increase to $40.83 at 6 months and a final increase to $42.98 at your first year.
