Job Description:
The AVP of Infusion Services serves as the senior executive leader providing oversight, direction, and decision making for Intermountain Health Infusion Services. This role provides executive oversight for all infusion service delivery models, including ambulatory, home, hospital-based, specialty, and other infusion-related sites of care. The individual ensures that Infusion Services achieves and sustains excellence in safety, patient experience, quality, access, and stewardship and continually drives toward achieving One Intermountain. This position is responsible for all aspects of Infusion Services including strategic planning, program growth and development, innovation, financial performance, continuous improvement activities, operations and supplier contract management. The AVP of Infusion Services establishes strong collaborative relationships with key leaders throughout the organization and with infusion leaders across the country. The individual understands and assesses the external healthcare environment and develops short-term and long-term plans to ensure that Intermountain Health is well-positioned for current and future success. The AVP of Infusion Services leverages the integrated healthcare delivery model and engages with physicians and other caregivers to further integrate Infusion Services into seamless care delivery processes across the care continuum to achieve and sustain improvements in patient outcomes.The leader is preferably based in Utah but must live within the Intermountain footprint (UT, ID, NV, MT, or CO) to strengthen collaboration, visibility, and alignment with enterprise initiatives.
Essential Functions
1. Provides executive leadership for enterprise Infusion Services, demonstrating strategic thinking, urgency for change, accountability, customer focus, relationship building, self-awareness, and the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
2. Collaborates across Community-based and Specialty-based care groups, clinical services, clinical programs, medical staff, and affiliated services to advance an integrated approach aligned with Intermountain Health’s Mission, Vision, Values, and One Intermountain strategy.
3. Develops and executes the strategic plan for enterprise Infusion Services in collaboration with the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Chief Clinical Shared Services Officer, including long-term growth, innovation, business development, and alignment with system strategies and marketplace trends.
4. Oversees all aspects of Infusion Services operations, including KPIs, staffing models, budgeting, purchasing, recruitment and retention, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery across sites of care.
5. Designs, implements, monitors, and evaluates cost-effective structures and care delivery models that improve safety, quality, access, patient experience, stewardship, clinical integration, and sustained performance of the Infusion Services Shared Service Model.
6. Maintains perpetual operational and regulatory compliance for Infusion Services, developing and implementing timely return-to-green plans when needed to address performance, compliance, or operational gaps.
7. Leads financial stewardship, cost-position improvement, supplier and payer contract negotiations, product standardization, and system-wide supplier selection in partnership with Supply Chain and cross-functional teams.
8. Synthesizes data from multiple sources to prepare meaningful reports, inform decision making, support performance improvement, and communicate key insights to leaders, caregivers, committees, and stakeholders.
9. Builds and maintains strong relationships with caregivers, stakeholders, physician leaders, clinical system leaders, and clinical program leaders to support effective operations, positive employee relations, shared goals, and enterprise decision making.
10. Serves as the subject matter expert for Infusion Services; represents the service line in planning, communication, committee, and decision-making forums; and recruits, retains, develops, and evaluates direct reports.

Minimum
- Master's degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
- Ten years of infusion service experience or related clinical service operations.
- Three years of experience in process measurement, process improvement, re-engineering, and health systems research.
- Documented record of effective execution of operational strategies and tactics.
- Experience in strategic planning, leadership, problem-solving, budget creation, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with compliance programs relating to professional standards, governmental agencies, and accreditation organizations.
- Experience with a healthcare delivery system and it's interactions with government agencies, insurance companies, physicians, other healthcare professionals, and the hospital organization.
- Experience using word processing, advanced or complex spreadsheet and database applications, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications, as well as computerized tracking systems.
- Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred
- Master of Business Administration or Master of Healthcare Administration from an accredited institution. Education is verified.
- Experience working in an integrated healthcare system.
- Experience in designing and conducting research, analyzing data
Physical Requirements

With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary.
