Job Description
BAE Systems helps protect those who protect us. As one of the world's leading defense contractors, we operate a manufacturing facility at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant (HAAP) in Kingsport, TN, where we develop and manufacture safer explosives for government and commercial customers.

We are seeking a CAD Drafter to support the design, construction, and commissioning of multi-million dollar modernization programs as well as day-to-day project support at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant.

As a CAD Drafter, you will create and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) using AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault. You will support engineering teams by preparing accurate technical drawings, maintaining organized document control, and ensuring proper revision and version management. As a CAD Drafter, you will work closely with project stakeholders to incorporate design changes, uphold drafting standards, and ensure all documentation is current, accessible, and compliant with established workflows.

We value our workforce and support work-life balance through a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off). This position involves on-site collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely two days per week.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Associate's Degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read redline markups and communicate effective drawing designs


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Completed coursework in CAD fundamentals, technical drawing, and industrial processes
  • Exposure to 3D CAD
  • Experience or training in AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault
  • Experience developing As-built drawings and Installation Design Plans (IDPs)


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $46898 - $75035

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
