 In Flight Inc., is a nonprofit that provides support services within a home environment and the community for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

 

Scope of Work Performed: The Facilities worker position is responsible for all matters of routine upkeep and maintenance of agency vehicles, equipment and property. This position reports directly to the Facilities Supervisor. The facilities department is based in Red Hook, the company sites are in Ulster and Columbia County. Facility workers use the company vehicles. Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with on call rotation. 

 Qualifications:

  1. Must have knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting.
  2. Must have knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
  3. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with acceptable driving record per agency policy. 
  4. High school diploma/GED 

Essential Job Duties/Tasks: 

  1. Completes daily assigned work orders in a timely manner. 
  2. Picks up, lifts and delivers furniture and equipment to all sites upon request.
  3. Duties will also include light construction, snow shoveling, general repair and maintenance of minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical and building issues.
  4. Painting and patching based on work orders or emergency situations.
  5. Responsible for maintaining all agency vehicles are serviced accordingly with regard to anything above oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections.
  6. Maintains lawn equipment and general grounds maintenance as needed or directed.
  7. Responsible for mowing all In Flight properties to be completed on a weekly basis. 
  8. Performs snow removal – whether shoveling or plowing – will need to be on call for snow removal.
  9. Will be part of the weekly on call rotation. 
  10. Follows all NYS and OPWDD regulations as well as all local and federal laws and regulations.
  11. Performs any related duties as requested by the Facilities Supervisor and/or Executive Director.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

All staff must pass all NYS Justice Center Background Check Requirements, and Physical. In addition, the employee has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law (including any motor vehicle infractions) to Human Resources.
