Position Scope:
The Human Resources Intern supports the daily operations of the HR department by assisting with onboarding, employee records, and various administrative tasks. This role provides hands on experience in multiple areas of HR while helping ensure smooth and efficient processes across the organization. Working under the guidance of HR leadership and specialists, the intern contributes to projects, supports employee communications, and gains exposure to real world HR practices within a fast paced, service driven environment.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Basic understanding of human resources principles and workplace practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees and applicants
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency with basic computer applications including email, spreadsheets, and document tools
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow established procedures
Preferred Qualification(s):
- Coursework or experience in human resources, business administration, or related fields
- Familiarity with recruiting, onboarding, or HR systems through school or prior internships
- Interest in pursuing a career in HR or talent management
Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to human resources, business, or a similar field
- Completion of introductory HR or business coursework preferred
Essential Job Functions:
- Support onboarding processes by preparing new hire materials and updating employee records
- Help maintain HR files, documentation, and digital records
- Assist with employee communications, announcements, and HR projects
- Support benefits administration by helping gather information or prepare materials
- Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing, and document preparation
- Participate in HR meetings, training sessions, and project discussions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and confidentiality requirements
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Support HR team members by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time
- Demonstrate initiative by asking questions and seeking opportunities to learn
- Contribute to a positive and professional HR environment
- Assist in improving HR processes by offering observations or suggestions when appropriate
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience with office administration or customer service
- Strong problem solving skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Familiarity with HR software or applicant tracking systems is helpful but not required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on HR tasks
- Ability to focus on detailed work with accuracy
- Occasional visits to branch locations for HR support or onboarding activities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a learning environment
Work Environment:
- Primarily office based with regular interaction across HR, hiring managers, and employees
- Fast paced environment requiring adaptability and strong communication
- Standard business hours with flexibility based on school schedules
Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, employees must be careful while performing onsite services.Â
