About Camali

Camali Corp is a family-owned critical infrastructure contractor founded in 1988. We design, install, and maintain the systems that keep mission-critical facilities running: UPS and critical power, precision cooling, and low-voltage structured cabling. We hold California Contractor License #714664 (B, C-10, C-20) and are a Certified Small Business (#0014296).

We are not a staffing shop and we are not a general contractor who subs out the hard parts. Our people touch the equipment.

The Role

You will own projects end to end: scope development, budget, schedule, subcontractor and vendor management, submittals, inspections, commissioning, and closeout. You will work directly with owners, landlords, engineers of record, and utilities.

Current and pipeline work includes multi-megawatt UPS and generator replacements, cooling retrofits, and conversion of legacy raised-floor halls to high-density liquid-cooled configurations.

The majority of your time will be on data center design-build. You will also carry a portion of our preventive maintenance and service contract portfolio - scheduling, scope, client reporting, and renewals - for accounts where the same client relationship spans both project and recurring work.

What You Will Do

  • Own project P&L, schedule, and delivery from award through closeout
  • Develop and validate scopes of work, equipment specifications, and budgets - including challenging a scope you believe is wrong before it becomes a change order
  • Manage electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and controls subcontractors
  • Coordinate with the engineer of record, the owner's rep, and the building's landlord or facility engineer
  • Drive utility coordination with SCE or the serving utility: service applications, capacity requests, Added Facilities agreements, and outage scheduling
  • Manage AHJ and agency approvals: city building and electrical, fire authority, and SCAQMD permitting for generator installations
  • Own long-lead procurement - transformers, switchgear, UPS, gensets, and chillers
  • Plan and execute work in live, occupied, energized facilities without dropping load
  • Manage assigned preventive maintenance and service contracts: scheduling, scope changes, deficiency reporting, and renewal support
  • Serve as the client escalation point on assigned accounts, coordinating with our field technicians and quoting team
  • Report status, risk, and forecast to ownership on a defined cadence
What You Need

  • 5+ years managing construction or installation projects, with at least 4 years on data center, central plant, or mission-critical facility work
  • Direct delivery experience on projects of $5M or greater, or a portfolio totaling $20M+
  • Working command of critical power systems: medium-voltage service, switchgear, UPS topologies, static transfer switches, PDUs, standby generation, paralleling gear, and ATS
  • Working command of data center cooling: CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, containment, and airflow management
  • Ability to read and interrogate a full MEP drawing set and one-line diagram
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to pass client background screening for pharmaceutical, government, and secure facility access
Strongly preferred

  • SCAQMD permitting experience for stationary diesel engines
  • Design-build or progressive design-build delivery, not just design-bid-build
  • Experience managing recurring preventive maintenance or service contract portfolios alongside project work
Logistics

  • On-site at our Lake Forest headquarters office and at project sites across Southern California
  • Full-time
