Assists other maintenance personnel on maintenance projects. Supports Student Success initiatives for the department. Essential Functions Performs routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, buildings, and equipment as assigned through work orders. Duties may include replacing light bulbs, lamps, ballasts, switches, receptacles, and fixtures; assisting with electrical troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and improvement projects; and supporting licensed electricians with wiring, conduit, panels, circuits, and other electrical systems. Performs minor plumbing and carpentry repairs, maintains doors and hardware, and assists with general facility improvement projects. Assists with HVAC preventive maintenance, including changing filters and belts, lubricating bearings, cleaning coils and drain pans, and completing other scheduled equipment maintenance. Performs inspections, identifies electrical and facility deficiencies, and reports conditions requiring specialized repairs. Assists other maintenance personnel on special maintenance projects as needed. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs to facilities. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned. Available for weekly on-call rotation (Monday-Sunday) 100% on-site presence. QualificationsRequired Qualifications Technical degree in a related maintenance field. Three (3) years of experience in general maintenance and repairs. Valid Class A Driver’s License. Knowledge of woodworking and general carpentry. Proficiency in general maintenance and care of equipment. Ability to operate powered equipment. Ability to operate painting equipment. Ability to use general hand tools. Work orders; furniture and equipment assembly instructions Provide record on the work order of completed work, supplies used, and time spent. Obtain measurements, determine distances, sizes and quantities  To discuss work order assignments with supervisor and coworkers; to order supplies and materials; must have the ability to meet the needs and concerns of college customers. Must possess the ability to get along with others, work under stress, and follow directions. To organize daily and weekly work schedules; to organize tools and materials; plan for replacement of materials and supplies.   EQUIPMENT USED: List equipment you regularly use on your job.  Duty 1: power tools, fork lift, tractor. Duty 2: hand carts, dollies, pallet jack. Duty 3: chain saw, sprayer. Duty 4: hand tools. Duty 5: ladders.         Physical Demand Description STANDING/WALKING Perform most job tasks, often on level ground surfaces or concrete. SITTING Drive forklift equipment, drive vehicle to pick-up supplies, attend meetings. VISION Perform all job functions. HEARING/TALKING To discuss assignments with supervisor or coworkers; to order supplies; to attend meetings. LIFTING/CARRYING To transport boxes, materials, cables, hardware, and other computer equipment (usually under 50 lbs.) FINE DEXTERITY Complete word order record. HANDLING General tools such as wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers power tools. KNEELING/CRAWLING Work in and around equipment and furniture. CLIMBING On ladders or from truck to make repairs. REACHING Utilize ladder for minor repairs. PUSHING/PULLING Load and unload supplies; materials, and tools from the truck.  FOOT CONTROL To operate fork lift and drive vehicle.
