Position Overview

As a Housekeeping Aide, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our facility.

 

You'll clean assigned resident rooms and common areas while following established sanitation, infection control, and safety procedures. You'll also help prepare rooms when residents are discharged or transferred, ensuring each space is thoroughly cleaned and ready for its next resident.

This is an active, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and understands that a clean environment helps residents feel comfortable and cared for.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned resident rooms, common areas, and general facility spaces
  • Clean and disinfect floors, furniture, beds, bathrooms, and other surfaces according to established procedures
  • Assist with moving and organizing residents' personal belongings when residents are discharged or transferred
  • Prepare resident rooms for new occupants following discharge and transfer procedures
  • Follow proper infection control practices in cleaning methods and personal hygiene
  • Safely handle and store cleaning compounds and hazardous substances
  • Collect and dispose of trash and refuse in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Help prevent infection, pests, and other environmental hazards through proper cleaning and waste disposal
  • Follow facility safety procedures and remain alert to fire regulations and potential hazards
  • Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, staff, and visitors
  • Follow all applicable facility policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Treat residents with dignity, kindness, and respect
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or laundry experience preferred
  • Ability to follow cleaning, safety, and infection control procedures
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Individuals under 18 years of age must not operate dangerous equipment, including compactors.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
