Job DetailsJob Location: Capital Sand - Kansas City - Independence , MO 64058Position Type: Full TimeThe position is for a Safety Coordinator within Capital Aggregates Where: in the Kansas City area Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field or equivalent work experience 3-5  years working with Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems and implementation of safety programs. Responsibilities: Assist with executing our safety strategy and zero accident culture for the aggregate side of the business Ensure job site safety including training, documentation, audits, and reporting Monitor daily mining activities for compliance with MSHA and company policies/procedures Assists with and facilitates industrial hygiene sampling Investigates incidents, injuries, and occupational diseases to determine primary and root causes and preventive/preventative measures. Reports or reviews findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections. Assist in safety efforts by researching, planning, developing, and implementing programs and procedures necessary to meet compliance and safety needs Lead safety training and toolbox talks for individuals and crews as needed Maintain a regular site visit to all assigned locations Communicate to all parties in real time to ensure all safety matters are dealt with timely and accurately Maintain proper safety records and documentation and communicate to all levels of the organization as necessary Other duties, as assigned. Knowledge & Skills Prior MSHA experience (Part 48 & Part 46) Industrial Hygiene experience is preferred. Skilled in Hazard Analysis, First Aid/CPR Instruction, Safety Training, Incident Investigations Self-Starter Ability to work independently or as part of a team Exceptional written and verbal skills when addressing either individuals or groups Presenting information in classroom or conference call settings Developing and executing a strategic plan with measurable goals based on leading and lagging indicator performance. Performance of multiple locations based on incident data obtained through internal tracking mechanisms. MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint Well-organized approach to constant changing working conditions and/or priorities Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.
