PCI is seeking an experienced Branch Safety Supervisor to support remote job sites for our PCI Lake Kurich 573 operations located around the Lake Zurich, Illinois area.  The Branch Safety Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and development for the branch safety team while fostering a culture where safety is owned by every employee. This role is responsible for building, coaching, and motivating a team of safety professionals who support field operations across the branch.

The position partners closely with project teams, field leadership, branch leadership, and the Corporate Safety Team to drive engagement, accountability, alignment, and continuous improvement in safety performance. Success is measured not only by safety results, but also by the ability to develop people, strengthen leadership at every level, and create a highly engaged safety team that influences others through trust, credibility, and consistent field presence.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop safety professionals.
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable.
  • Provide regular feedback, training, and career development.
  • Identify and develop future safety leaders.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new safety personnel.
  • Build a team environment where people feel supported, valued, challenged, and accountable.

Partnership & Communication

  • Make safety a partner in operations, rather than a separate/administrative function.
  • Help project teams plan work, identify risks, solve problems, and improve execution.
  • Ensure safety expectations, concerns, and lessons learned are communicated consistently.
  • Clarify ownership and make sure issues are followed through to completion.

Training & Development

  • Identify safety training needs for both field and office employees.
  • Develop and deliver practical safety training, particularly for project management and office personnel.
  • Establish a consistent training/onboarding program for new safety professionals.
  • Use incidents, near misses, observations, and field feedback as opportunities to improve the entire organization.

Safety Culture & Field Presence

  • Promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture.
  • Recognize good safety performance while addressing deficiencies directly.
  • Encourage employees to speak up, identify hazards, share ideas, and stop work when necessary.
  • Teach safety professionals to influence and coach people effectively, not simply enforce rules.

 Organization, Compliance & Execution

  • Ensure inspections, audits, investigations, reporting, training records, and compliance requirements are properly managed.
  • Create systems for prioritization, communication, documentation, follow-up, and accountability.
  • Monitor safety team workloads and project coverage.
  • Allocate safety resources based on risk, project needs, and employee development.
  • Analyze safety trends and recurring problems.
  • Create action plans with clear ownership and deadlines.

Salary Range: $93,000-$124,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

 Basic Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in safety.  
  • OSHA 500CHST or other BCSP Credentials a plus.
  • OSHA, DOT, FMC, MSHA, EPA, Fossil Power, experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills and ability to teach others.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
