Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Environmental Services, ensuring and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and consistency throughout all areas of the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective working relationships with all constituents including administration, team members, providers, patients and vendors.
- Identify cost effective systems needed to support the Environmental Services department at the facility.
- Responsible for conducting required one-on-one training using approved techniques, procedures and educational materials in the coaching process.
- Monitor all employees to evaluate team member performance including technical skills, cleaning and maintenance of hard surface floors, carpeting, walls, windows, stairwells, elevators, automatic door tracks and baseboards.
- Proactively identify and prioritize areas that need environmental services attention.
- Responsible for meeting all goals related to Orlando Health strategic pillars, including but not limited to, budget, customer experience, quality, and team member engagement.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of and lead projects utilizing necessary equipment.
- Advise administration, supervisory staff, peer groups and team members as to the proper interpretation of various Environmental Health, Safety and Environment of Care policies, procedures and regulations.
- Act as a resource and role model for the team.
- Evaluate the performance of team members reporting to the position based on organizational, departmental, personal goals and objectives.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Must have a good working knowledge of computer systems to include Microsoft Office Suite, Bed Management System, Timekeeping System, or other related computer systems used in the daily functions of the department.
- Adheres to all Standards of Precaution, MSDS and Hand Hygiene directives.
- Capable of completing Patient room cleaning processes utilizing the 7-step cleaning method when functioning and performing Environmental Housekeeper duties.
- Responsible for coordinating the removal of regular, recycled and bio-medical waste.
- Must complete all mandatory training as designated and required. Attendance at in-service as required.
- Participates in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities as appropriate.
- Must be able to maintain productivity and volume standards established for the assigned facility.
- Keeps current with all policies and procedures of the hospital and the department.
- Willing to participate in other related duties not directly assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Five (5) years of Environmental Services Leadership experience, preferably in Healthcare.
