Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) is seeking a Project Coordinator for NASA’s Earth Science Division (ESD) to support the work of a diverse communications, outreach, and engagement team. The position is full-time and remote, with some opportunities for occasional hybrid work in the Washington, DC area.

The team produces content for websites (graphics, animations, and video), strategic communications products for senior leadership, and print products for conferences and meetings. The project coordinator will play a critical role in the coordination and execution of these projects and will support the team leader and other leads across multiple projects within the team’s portfolio. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating regular meetings and facilitating information sharing among core project teams and other project partners, both virtually and in-person.
  • Monitoring project progress, timelines, and milestones and handling issues that arise.
  • Capturing minutes, recordings, and action items from meetings.
  • Maintaining project infrastructure/shared resources, including project documentation, project management software, and other assets.
  • Compiling reports for management review.
  • Providing organizational redundancy to project leads.
  • Participating in senior level meetings as appropriate.
  • Other support as needed to ensure the smooth and timely operations of the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (B.S) degree and 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current PMP certification or comparable work experience.
  • 3+ years supporting teams in a project coordinator role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
  • Experience working with the Office 365 and/or Google Workplace suite of tools (virtually in a shared environment).
  • Experience specifying and utilizing project management tools to track team deliverables and milestones.
  • Well-organized self-starter who has proven skills balancing multiple tasks, communicating in a team environment, and has polished coordination skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining website content via a content management system (CMS).
  • Knowledge of Earth or physical sciences.
