The Staff Pad has partnered with a reputed hospital in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to hire a full-time Advanced Patient Care Technician (APCT) for the Emergency Department. 

The APCT supports physicians and nursing staff in providing efficient, compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Room by assisting with patient monitoring, procedures, documentation, and team-based care to ensure safe, timely, and compassionate treatment.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet, assess, and assist patients with immediate care needs in the ER
  • Accurately document patient conditions, treatments, and interactions while maintaining confidentiality
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to deliver timely, safe, and effective care
  • Perform clinical duties within scope of practice, including:
    • Vital signs monitoring
    • Point-of-care testing
    • Phlebotomy
    • EKGs
    • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Support emergency interventions and patient management as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment
  • Provide one-on-one observation for high-risk patients, including those at risk of self-harm
  • Assist with unit operations including answering phones, coordinating transfers, and general support duties

What We Are Looking For

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited EMT program
  • Current state certification or licensure required
  • BLS required; ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to work full-time (36 hours/week) with 12-hour shifts (days or nights)
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of direct clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with EMR systems and basic computer proficiency
  • Commitment to infection control and patient safety standards
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 35 lbs using proper body mechanics
