Position Summary:
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is seeking an experienced Guest Services Security Manager to lead venue and event security operations across the property. This position is responsible for the management of LVMS Blue Shirt Security, LVMS Yellow Shirt Security, outside security vendors, security staffing and deployment, credentials and access control, gate operations, incident reporting, command center operations, radio systems, and emergency preparedness.
Reporting to the VP of Events and Operations, the Guest Services Security Manager provides leadership and oversight for daily security operations, special events, NASCAR, NHRA, and other major events. The position works closely with LVMS leadership, law enforcement, fire and medical partners, security vendors, and event stakeholders to maintain a safe, professional, and coordinated operating environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage LVMS Blue Shirt Security and LVMS Yellow Shirt Security, including hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, performance management, uniforms, equipment, and department standards.
- Develop and maintain security staffing plans, post assignments, deployment schedules, briefing materials, event checklists, equipment records, and operational updates using Airtable and other approved planning tools for daily operations, rentals, NASCAR, NHRA, and other LVMS events.
- Oversee credentials and access control management, including credential verification, restricted area permissions, property access, gate operations, gate security, entry procedures, and security inspections. Manage the venue surveillance camera program, including camera placement planning, implementation, system access, operational readiness, maintenance coordination, coverage assessments, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Manage outside security vendors and coordinate staffing levels, assignments, expectations, invoicing, performance, and post-event evaluations.
- Coordinate security operations with LVMS leadership, Metro, Nevada State Police, fire and medical partners, public safety agencies, sanctioning bodies, promoters, and event partners.
- Own the development, review, maintenance, and implementation of Emergency Action Plans for assigned venues and events.
- Lead emergency planning meetings, tabletop exercises, training, and corrective actions to continuously improve emergency procedures.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce command center procedures, including activation plans, staffing models, communication protocols, escalation procedures, and operational checklists.
- Oversee command center operations during events and ensure incidents, decisions, and emergency actions are documented, escalated, and communicated through the appropriate chain of command.
- Manage LVMS radio operations, including radio ordering, inventory, programming coordination, distribution, channel plans, charging, maintenance, user training, event deployment, collection, and accountability.
- Manage incident reporting through 24/7 Software, including user access, reporting standards, report review, follow-up, record accuracy, and timely escalation to LVMS leadership and appropriate departments. Maintain security operating procedures, post orders, staffing records, security plans, event checklists, and other required security documentation.
- Manage security budgets, staffing costs, vendor expenses, equipment needs, financial tracking, budget updates, event recaps, and recommendations.
- Maintain professional communication and ensure compliance with company policies, security procedures, event requirements, permit conditions, safety standards, and operational expectations.

Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of management experience in venue security, event security, public safety, sports or entertainment security, motorsports security, law enforcement, emergency management, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience managing security personnel, staffing schedules, vendors, event teams, or security departments.
- Demonstrated experience leading large security teams and developing security staffing, deployment, post assignment, credentialing, access control, gate operation, and event security plans.
- Experience developing and implementing Emergency Action Plans and command center procedures.
- Experience coordinating with law enforcement, fire, medical, emergency management, security vendors, and public safety agencies.
- Knowledge of radio systems, event radio plans, equipment distribution, inventory control, and operational communications.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain composed during emergencies, manage multiple priorities, follow direction, meet deadlines, and complete work at a professional standard.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. - REQUIRED

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and loud environments for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and perform physical activity throughout the workday.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules and operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at a motorsports facility, stadium, arena, sports venue, entertainment venue, festival, convention center, or other large-scale public event facility.
- Experience managing security operations for race weekends, festivals, concerts, corporate events, community events, or other large public events.
- Experience with 24/7 Software or a comparable incident reporting system, Airtable, Microsoft office, security planning platforms, staffing software, venue mapping tools, surveillance camera systems, and other operational planning technology.
- Professional certifications or training in emergency management, incident command, event security, crowd management, or public safety.
