Position Summary

Provide administrative support, performs as a receptionist, as well as clerical and customer service functions, as well as non-technical duties in Practices or Departments.

How you’ll contribute 

A Receptionist who excels in this role:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 

Essential Functions

 

  • Prepares statistical reports and performs general administrative and clerical duties, including preparing outgoing mail, distributing incoming mail, maintaining filing systems and databases, entering data, preparing correspondence and documents, photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Greets and assists visitors and communicates professionally with patients, providers, departments, offices, and other facilities.
  • Answers, places, and directs telephone calls and ensures messages are accurately documented and distributed.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and schedules meetings, appointments, and other office activities.
  • Maintains a clean, organized office environment and monitors inventory to ensure office supplies are ordered and readily available.
  • Responds to requests for information by reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and addressing incoming work requests.
  • Coordinates office workflow and maintains accurate records of office activities and administrative processes.
  • Performs basic accounting functions, as applicable, including reviewing invoices, preparing deposits, processing or tracking payments, and managing petty cash.

     

Non-Essential Functions

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
  • Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
  • Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
  • Accepts all call schedule as directed.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. 
  • One year of experience preferred
  • ASLS certification preferred

 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.

Reports to: Office Manager/Supervisor or Dept Director

STRHS-Lawrenceburg, formerly Crockett Hospital, is a 99-bed, acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville.

We have been providing the best healthcare in Lawrence County and surrounding counties in Southern Middle Tennessee since 1974. We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound. The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area.
