As the Production Scheduler, you will plan and establish production schedules to meet customer demands. You will develop production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity, and new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planning and coordination of production schedules
- Plan production start-up dates by either starting with the date when materials are available and ready for production or via the use of customer due dates
- Responsible for determining the products to be built, and the machines or production lines to be used
- Read and understand information from job orders and available inventory reporting
- Review schedules and workflow to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely manner
- Perform pre-organization of production materials before the commencement of production
- Coordinate and develop production plans with the company’s management team
- Create efficient scheduling processes or methods to attain production goals
- Place orders for production materials to avoid shortage in inventory
- Generate production reports used for important production decisions
- Review routine checks and maintenance of production equipment to avoid shut down during production
- Solve problems related to material shortage in a timely manner
- Handle production issues without hindering production and delivery
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent required; Associate degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) preferred
- Excellent communication skills on all fronts (listening and speaking)
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated coordination and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated good time management abilities
- Demonstrated understanding of basics of customer care
- Ability to multitask if needed and display flexibility while carrying out duties
- Basic knowledge of computer software and operation
- Familiar with logistics planning software
- Ability to travel up to 25%
