Job DetailsJob Location: Cobalt TN - Lenoir, TN 37771 Job Title: Repair Technician    Department: Repair    Reports To: Department Supervisor FLSA Status: Hourly        Summary: Repair of hulls and/or decks to Cobalt standards while following safety protocols.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities List the job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects for the job whether performed daily weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals. Wipe down, buff, and inspect each part to identify flows or damage.  Done by manually wiping  part off using towel and acetone, buffing the part (removing wax and wiping off compound), visually identifying and marking flaw with grease pencil.      Sand and buff problem area to make a smooth, shiny surface.  Done by sanding manually or with power sander, then buffing with air powered buffer until smooth.    Cut flaws out of fiberglass to remove problem area by using router or razor blade. Then mix gel coat and catalyst filling in hole with mixture using tongue depressor.   Paint over thin or damaged areas of gel coat to create flawless surface. Correct crooked paint lines to create straight paint lines. Repair major areas in hull or deck to correct errors made while cutting. Repairing areas that are damaged during assembly. Inspecting, repairing, and finessing boat at the end of the line. Other duties may be assigned.   Qualifications Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
