Grants and Financial Operations Manager

Community Concepts, a Maine nonprofit that provides resources to help people move forward, is seeking a Grants and Financial Operations Manager. This is a full-time position, primary work site is our Lewiston Office with regular travel to various job sites, and reports directly to the CFO. 

Starting Range of Pay: $33.66-37.39, depending on education and experience

Essential Duties:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the financial administration of the Agency’s grants, contracts, and other funding sources, as well as providing support in the day-to-day operations among the Financial Analysts. 
  • Ensuring accurate financial management, regulatory and funding compliance, timely billing and drawdowns, effective monitoring of grant expenditures, and useful financial reporting for program and agency leadership. 
  • Serve as a key liaison among Finance, program leadership, executive leadership, and funding partners, helping to ensure financial information is understood and used to support effective program management and organizational decision-making. 
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking of funding sources, award amounts, grant periods, budgets, expenditures, available balances, match requirements, restrictions, reporting deadlines, and other financial requirements. 
  • Oversee invoicing and accounts receivable activities related to contracts, fee-for-service arrangements, and other non-grant funding sources. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable grants and contract requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance), federal cost principles, funder requirements, and Agency policies and procedures. 
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards, grant reports, forecasts, and other management tools that provide leadership with timely visibility into program and grant financial performance.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, and/or certified by the State Board of Certified Public Accountants preferred. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory and managerial position.
  • Must possess leadership, technical, and professional accounting skills, preferably including experience with complex, non-profit accounting. 
  • Computer literacy is a must, including Microsoft Excel & Word, and accounting software. 

Other Requirements: Strong understanding of fiscal policy; a continuous improvement mindset; ability to inspire a team; written and verbal communication must be able to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff; promptly and accurately find solutions to financial related challenges. Pre-employment SBI, DMV, Maine, and National Sex Offender Registry, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
