The Youth Resource Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Regional Interagency Council Meetings, and the Local Interagency Council meetings. The RIAC mission is to promote healthy children and transition-age youth (16-25) across Kentucky by building a collaborative system of care through social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. The ideal candidate must be initiative-taking, and displays strong organizational and communication skills, as well as an expert in building and sustaining relationships with community partners and members. The Youth Resource Coordinator is a positive collaborator that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation. This candidate must have a natural passion for assisting youth and families through multiple systematic levels.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human service-related field and three years experience working with children’s issues and programming
  • Experience coordinating, facilitating meetings and working collaboratively with community partners
  • Knowledge and experience with different child-serving systems, including education, mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, health and others
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of current auto insurance

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience working with children/youth who have complex behavioral health needs
  • Comfort in grant review, writing, and submission
  • Understands and manages multiple grant budgets

Essential Functions

  • Staffing and coordinating Regional Interagency Council (RIAC) meetings in the three New Vista RIAC regions
  • Coordinating the Local Interagency Council (LIAC) meetings in the New Vista counties in which they exist and assuring New Vista staff involvement as appropriate in the LIAC meetings
  • Building community relationships and promoting New Vista services when appropriate
  • Working within the RIACs, LIACs and other community partnerships to promote resource development within New Vista communities
