Description

  

A project foreman’s core responsibility is to maintain product integrity. Maintaining product integrity involves managing project teams to ensure that all work is performed in line with the organizational standards and expectations. This goal is dependent upon a project foreman’s ability to understand how work is supposed to be performed, set expectations accordingly, and hold teammates accountable to those expectations. A foreman is very critical to the execution of the project once the team is onsite. Successful project foremen take pride in their work and are committed to the values of the organization. 


Foremen generally need to have extensive experience in the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades. 


General responsibilities for Foreman:

  •  Handle all aspects of project oversight:
    • Provide daily written reports outlining resource needs for the following day and project progress. Send reports to management and       outline key actions that need to be performed to meet project objectives. Place orders for materials and resources that are needed on the project. 
    • Set daily goals for the team with the superintendent and outline clear expectations for individual teammates. Direct any       significant disciplinary concerns to the project superintendent.
    • Assume primary responsibilities for customer communications and updates onsite. Ensure that management is updated with customer feedback that is received. 

Requirements

  

  •  Ability to organize a work schedule and manage a labor force
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •  Deep knowledge of the HVAC / Mechanical industry and processes
  •  Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and operation manuals
  • EPA, OSHA30, rigging and lift certifications are required. 
  • Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients 
  •  Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the website
  • Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
  • Project fulfillment will meet labor projections and budgets
  • Will work 40 hours per week and as needed on overtime for assigned weekend/outage projects
  • Posted time will be 100% billable to active projects
  •  Work will be performed approximately 90% in the field and 10% in the office
