Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup: Mount, and secure tools, fixtures, attachments, and workpieces on CNC machines.
- Program Loading & Editing: Load, edit, and adjust CNC programs (G-code) to ensure accurate production sequences.
- First Piece Inspection: Run initial test pieces, measure results using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers), and make necessary offsets for quality assurance.
- Troubleshooting: Monitor machines during operation to detect problems (worn tools, vibration), adjust speeds and feeds, and resolve errors.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, including lubrication, cleaning, and coolant replacement.
- Documentation: Maintain setup sheets, production logs, and quality inspection reports.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in CNC machine operation or setup.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and job routers. Familiar with fixtures.
- Tools: Expertise with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of G-code fundamentals and different types of CNC machines (lathes, mills).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; a certificate or technical diploma in machining is preferred.
- Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required for core day to day tasks. Spanish is also desired to communicate with our diverse teams.
