Treasury Analyst 

 

American Life, a rapidly growing financial services holding company, is seeking a highly analytical, hands on, and energetic leader to join the Treasury Team. We operate as a modern technology-enabled, insurance holding company focused on long-term growth, and to advance the insurance value chain through products and services that focus on reduced costs and increased customer value.  

Summary/Objective 

The Treasury Analyst processes and records a variety of domestic and international transactions, often complex in nature. This position also posts incoming funds from various parties to account for investment activity. This role is responsible for timely, accurate and organized flow of funds. Research and reconciliation of variances, working with internal and external partners is essential. Recording of support documents, monthly reporting and audit support fall under this role. This position requires a highly analytical and proactive individual who is adept at navigating complex financial environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of treasury activities, cash management, and financial risk assessment. 

Essential Functions 

  • Cash Management: Oversee daily cash management operations, including cash positioning, reporting and liquidity management.
  • Banking Relationships: Maintain and manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.  Including account opening/closuring, signatories and audit requests.
  • Financial Transactions: Execute and monitor treasury transactions, including investments, borrowings, and foreign exchange dealings while ensuring proper financial controls and risk mitigation.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and present treasury reports to management and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Continually seek opportunities to improve treasury processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all controls.
  • Researches and analyzes issues related to Customer accounts as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and communicate with others. This may be over the phone, in person, or through email and messaging. The employee must be able to hear customers and agents over the phone. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk, and use their hands and fingers to work with the computer, phones, filing cabinets, paperwork, etc.   

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m CT. Additional hours as needed in order to complete tasks and meet deadlines. 

Travel 

No travel is expected for this position. 

Required Education and Experience 

  • Associate degree in accounting/finance with 4 year of related experience or;
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 2 years of related experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong customer service and communication skills
  • Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • PC skills, including the ability to learn new systems

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Experience with back-office banking systems and operations.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
