Position Overview:
As a Cash Office Clerk, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and providing information about promotions or discounts
- Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases with cash, credit/debit cards or other payment methods
- Ensuring correct change is provided if it is a cash transaction
- Counting and reconciling cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift
- Stay informed about products, prices and promotions to effectively assist customers and promote sales
- Promoting store loyalty programs, discounts and or special promotions to encourage customer participation
- Efficiently bag and package customer purchase, ensuring items are handled with care
- Offering assistance to customers with carrying their bags or locating carts
- Resolve customer concerns or issues related to the transaction with a positive and helpful attitude
- Adhering to security measures such as checking identification for age restricted purchase and monitoring for fraudulent activity
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, & holidays
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Must be 18 years of age due to nature of the work.
Schedule:
- Must be able to work Weekdays evenings and holidays
- Part time up to 25 hours a week
Pay:
- $16.94 but $17.50 after training complication
Experience:
- Preferred: Cash handling experience
- Preferred: Basic math, reading and computer skills
- Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 20-25lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
