Position Overview
International is currently seeking an Accounting Consultant to join our Accounting Team.
The Accounting Consultant will perform accounting activities for International Financial from the transactional level to financial statement reporting, including coordination with operating personnel as well as preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial results analytics.
The position will report into the Accounting Manager and be based out of our Lisle headquarters in Illinois.
Responsibilities
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support a timely financial close process including the preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support organizational structure adequate for achieving company and department objectives
- Work in partnership with operational personnel to gain knowledge of strategic direction and properly account for new or significant transactions
- Continuously work to streamline the accounting function and close cycle timing and partner internally to drive efficiency company-wide
- Prepare financial statement analytics including key metrics and benchmarks
- Provide support to internal and external auditors for timely and efficient completion of audits
- Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Bachelor's degree and a CPA and at least 2 years of accounting or finance experience
OR
- Master's degree in Accounting or Master's degree and a CPA and at least 1 years of accounting or finance experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
- CPA Strongly Preferred
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion, PowerBI, and robust Excel skills is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to develop and mentor staff In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and principles
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
