The Assistant Manager is directly responsible for assisting GM in managing day-to-day operations of a Wright’s Barbecue store. Duties to include the selection, development, and performance management of all employees and managers. Assistant Manager will partner with GM oversee inventory, ordering of food and supplies, maximizing profitability, and ensuring all guests are satisfied with their dining experience.

Major Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the store operations and make final decisions on matters of importance

  • Be go to person for all things Toast/POS related

  • Lead and coach other employees and managers to ensure their growth personally and professionally

  • Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.

  • Assist with opening/closing duties as needed. Flexibility to work throughout the week.

  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Completes accident reports promptly if a guest or team member is injured.

  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service

  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests, and company assets

  • Works with leadership on achievement of food costs, labor costs, operating expenses, sales, and profitability goals.

  • Responsible for ensuring all financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs

  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service

  • Maintains a professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards.

  • Estimate food and beverage costs. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.

  • Ensures positive guest service in all areas. Responds to complaints taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.

  • Responsible for full compliance of all HR policies and procedures for store employees.

  • Conducts orientation, oversees training of new employees and develops by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and conducting performance reviews.

  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs.

  • Provides strong presence in local community and high level of community involvement by restaurant and personnel, always upholding the image of Wright’s Barbecue.

  • Performs additional reasonable requests or responsibilities by GM, COO, or Owners at any time.
