Summary of Job Duties:

The Associate Program Manager serves as a navigator to connect faculty investigators with the Translational Research Institute's (TRI’s) broad portfolio of resources and services. Primary responsibilities include managing the TRI Clinical Trial Innovation Unit’s (CTIU) portfolio of new clinical trial opportunities, including matching new study opportunities with UAMS investigators, leading pre-study site selection activities, to include feasibility assessments and facilitating pre-study site visits for prospective research sponsors. The Associate Program Manager will participate in the national Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) initiatives, including serving as UAMS’ liaison to the CTSA Trial Innovation Network (TIN) and will work independently to create, manage, and oversee projects for the TRI. Leads cross-functional project teams and tracks progress of projects to ensure timely completion of project deliverables. Position requires exceptional communication skills and involves constant collaboration with TRI leadership and staff, UAMS faculty, and other institutional stakeholders.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of project/program management experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage new clinical trial opportunities by matching study opportunities with interested investigators. 

  • Establishes initial contact with study sponsors and contract research organizations. 

  • Facilitates confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements required for vetting of new study opportunities. 

  • Completes site information forms and feasibility assessments to enable the site selection process. 

  • Organizes and schedules pre-study site visits for prospective research sponsors to include facility tours and facilitating meetings with TRI staff and other UAMS stakeholders.

  • Collects essential study documents from sponsors/lead study site before releasing to other CTIU teams to begin active study start-up. 

  • Thoroughly documents pre-study activities in research informatics systems to enable reporting of metrics and continuous quality improvement of clinical trial start-up processes.

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for TRI hub investigators to request resources, services, or consultation from the TRI. 

  • Facilitates access to TRI resources and services by connecting each requestor with the appropriate core leadership and subject matter expert(s) to evaluate the request and provide services. 

  • Contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts by tracking relevant metrics for each request via the TRI Services Portal.

  • Regularly represents TRI by participating in national CTSA activities. 

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for the CTSA Trial Innovation Network (TIN) and acts as liaison for TIN activities across all TRI hub sites. 

  • Leads and/or assists with organizing and planning TRI-sponsored special events and projects. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
