Job DetailsJob Location: Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria - Loleta, CA 95551Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $20.88 - $31.71 HourlyJob Description  JOB TITLE: Social Services Office Assistant FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt DEPARTMENT: Social Services BACKGROUND:   PL 101-630 REPORTS TO: Social Services Director UNIFORM REQUIRED: N/A SALARY RANGE 4-6  APPROVED ON: TC-07/18/2023 FUNDING SOURCE: General Funds FUNDING EXPIRATION: Recurring Tribal Preference will be given in accordance with BRBRR Act Relating to Employment.  POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Services Offices Assistant contributes to the effective running of the Social Services office to meet the needs of our Tribal members and our Social Services staff. The Social Services Office Assistant is responsible for the general administrative operations of the office. The Program Assistant will be instrumental in maintaining reception duties, coordinating between the Social Services office and Tish-Non Community Center, as well providing ongoing administrative support to Social Services staff.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:  Screen and direct telephone calls. Maintain department files. Assist with developing and facilitate groups such as Healthy Families. Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members. Provide support to the community members with addressing immediate needs when appropriate. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on Social Service events. When appropriate provide assistance to community members with preparation and submission of forms both internally and with outside agencies. Assist in delivering emergency supplies. Process all mail, correspondence and information to and from the program’s office. Interagency collaboration with other departments. Maintain the office equipment, including organizing phone coverage as needed. Maintain the safety, organization, and professional appearance of the front office space. Order and organize program and class supplies. Informally coordinate communication among department staff employees by keeping track of schedules and individuals’ whereabouts. Greet visitors and interact with tribal members. Keep photocopies of agency and department forms available in the front office. Must accept confidentiality as a strict condition of employment. Shall follow mandated reporting requirements. Other duties may be assigned.  AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None  QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Flexibility and ability to work under pressure  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Must have High School diploma or GED Associate’s degree in Behavioral Health preferred; Must have    2  /years of related experience in Behavioral Health or Social Services; Experience working in Native American communities preferred.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance. Must provide or obtain the Servsafe Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment. Must have valid Mandated Reporter Training Certification within three (3) months of hire.  COMPUTER OPERATIONS Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.  LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.). Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
