Data Center Solutions (DCS) is looking for an experienced Senior Field Technician to keep the cooling systems behind North America's most critical data centers running around the clock. If you know your way inside a chiller, live for the challenge of a tricky troubleshoot, and want to be the person facility teams call when it really matters, this is your next role.
You'll work hands-on with portable and mobile chillers, CRAH and CRAC units, chilled water systems, pumps, hydronic systems, and HVAC controls, while also mentoring the next generation of technicians in the field. This is a travel-based, onsite role — no two days look the same, and no two sites are the same either.
Duties / Responsibilities
Field Service & Technical Support
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on critical cooling equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair cooling system failures
- Respond to emergency service calls and critical infrastructure events
- Perform startup, testing, commissioning support, and functional verification of cooling systems
- Support temporary and mobile chiller deployments
- Document all service activities, findings, and corrective actions

Customer Support
- Interface directly with customers, facility operators, and data center personnel
- Provide technical recommendations and equipment assessments
- Maintain professional communication during service activities and outages
- Support DCS service agreements and customer response requirements
Leadership & Team Support
- Mentor junior technicians and subcontractors
- Assist with technician training and field development
- Support continuous improvement of service procedures and standards
- Provide technical input to field service management and operations leadership
Required Skills / Abilities
- Chillers and cooling systems
- Pumps and hydronic systems
- HVAC controls and BAS/BMS systems
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Preventive maintenance programs
- Technical documentation and reporting
- Ability to work independently at customer sites
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC, mechanical, or critical facilities field service experience
- Experience with chillers, chilled water systems, or mission-critical cooling systems
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
- Data center experience preferred
- CRAH and CRAC maintenance experience preferred
- Experience with Vertiv, Stulz, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, or similar mission-critical cooling manufacturers preferred
- Experience supporting colocation, enterprise, financial, healthcare, or hyperscale facilities preferred
Certifications
- EPA Universal Certification (Required)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Preferred)
- Manufacturer certifications (Preferred)
Physical Demand Level: Moderate to Heavy
Travel Requirement: Up to 75%
- Ability to participate in on-call and emergency response rotations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in data centers, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and industrial environments
