Certerra has an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) technician in Longview, WA office. The position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, does not mind some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team.

Certerra is a consulting firm focused on building a highly skilled, collaborative team to provide innovative geotechnical, environmental and construction materials engineering services. Job Summary: 

Collect samples of Petroleum coke, Iron Ore, Soda Ash, Wood chips and other solid materials from Ships, Trucks, Rail cars and Barges while loading and unloading to/from storage area, piles etc. Manual and Mechanical sampling, Operating Mechanical Sampling System. 

Create sample tags, identify/label samples appropriately, Sample splitting and sample preparation, Crushing and pulverizing samples, Analyze major elements, Check particle size, shot content, and other physical properties, prepare samples for further testing, communicate with clients and report results in timely manner, Label retain containers appropriately and place in the appropriate location for retain, perform duties as expressed by the supervisor. 

Follow Safe Work Practices 

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to identify potential issues early. 

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance logs for accountability and future reference. 

Requirements: 

English verbal communication skills, Basic Computer and math skills, Able to follow written and verbal directions, Physical Requirements: 

Ability lift: 35 lbs. 

Ability to bend at waist, twist at waist, and reach above shoulder without impediment, climbing stairways and walking catwalks, Background Check and TWIC Reliable vehicle and driving record 

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Working Hours: Day shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Night shift: 6:00 pm to 3:00 am Experience: 

At least 2-5 years of industrial experience, Experience in Mechanical equipment operation and maintenance.
